Bathrooms can be transformed from a utilitarian room into a great space to relax and unwind in. Making this change can switch a bathroom from somewhere you grab a quick shower into a room you want to ease away a long day in a deep bath.

Sheree came into our showroom as she was looking to fit in with her period terrace property in Rawdon. While examining our displays Sheree fell in love with our traditional display, particularly the panelling and the RAK console basin and legs. We talked about her plans and designed a perfect room around her vision.

Before we started the room was in a very bad state. It was covered floor-to-ceiling with porcelain tiles. Sheree was also contending with an unwanted airing cupboard and a badly fitted wet area. Shamefully a free-standing bath had been boxed in.

Everything was fully stripped back and reboarded, including the ceiling to make it less wonky. We removed and rebuilt the original step, and renewed the flooring on the lower section. We also created the panelling around the room.

Inspired by our traditional display, Sheree loved that she could have the Waters Bath of Ashbourne double ended bath painted in any Faro and Ball colour. You’ll agree the Lake Red really compliments the panelling colour and flowery wallpaper. The stunning tin floor tiles came from the Baked Tile Company in Wales. These are very unusual floor tiles as they are deeply embossed.

The job was completed over a three-week period and included our colleagues coming off the job for a couple of days to make way for the decorators. You’ll notice that the fake feature fireplace in the corner of the room is angled to conceal heating pipes.

Sheree completed the look by dressing the bathroom beautifully which in turn transformed it into a great space. If you need any help dressing your bathroom get in touch and speak to our very own interior design coach Francesca.
